Across each of 18 scoring races this winter, each competitor will pick up 2 points, with a bonus point awarded to the first 10 Barnet athletes in most of the races.

Sarah Ralphs has made a strong start to her debut season, completing 4 of 5 races to score 12 points and put daylight over the chasing pack. Hot on her heels maybe we need to start WPT cliche bingo? Special mentions go to Yllka Istrefi, Ally Drake, and Bev Dewberry, who have made their debuts this season and remain in close contention with 6 points. The scores so far — Men. Julian Tovey and David Byrne are close behind in second place, with three Chingford League races for Julian and a North London appearance for David giving them an excellent 9 points already.

The race which was due to take place in September in Holland was postponed due to Covid restrictions. Karen Murphy raced in the Standard distance event 9. Starting off in waves, Karen was in the lead group in the first run — 2 laps on a flat fast course along the paths of Aviles heading out from the start at the very impressive Nieymar Centre.
A solid run led Karen into transition in 1st place in her age group in 34minutes An extremely impressive first lap of the bike saw Karen move up through the field past some of the younger competitors. After completing her second lap, Karen had moved even further though the field and put down an incredible time of 1hour 19minutes 48 when she reached transition for the 2nd time.
With a mere 5K to run, Karen headed out for 1 lap of the run course looking totally in control and determined. She continued to move through the field and also started to pass people who had started in the earlier waves.
She was also 10th quickest from all the age groups ranging from the youngest competitors at 20 to the oldest at over We have entered into a partnership with iProsports to provide a range of club kit.
