Since I never finished the final battle I'll still have some incentive to see it through to the end.

On my first playthrough I joined the swamp camp and maxed out swords. I don't think I used magic at all. I didn't do stuff like mining either, but I might have made a few swords. Mem Lifer. What faction to join? User Info: vouslavous. You'll want to keep helping the Order if you want to be a mage. If you join the Don you can only be a fighter-ish class. User Info: laxmen You can do quests for both sides and all you have to do is make sure you don't do 4 for the Don in order to join the Order.
